DH has left the building

DH woke up this morning with a sudden, strong desire to attend his 25 year college reunion tonight in Philadelphia, 5 hours away (we are so old...).  I have no desire to go and can't get a sitter for the dog on such short notice, so he went solo.    He was so racked with guilt at leaving but really, its kind of nice to have the whole house to myself for a day, with my girl Bally (the dog).  Its so quiet without the TV on (DH is a tv addict) - I can hear all the birds chirping!  What should I do with my day?  A little maternity clothes shopping maybe?  Some dog walking? Some piano playing (I don't play as much when he is in the house for some reason)? And, I am totally eating the last, big piece of chocolate cake!  Its turning out to be a pretty good day so far!

    My DH is a firefighter paramedic, and he works 24hr shifts. Yes, I miss him when he's at work. But when I get DS to bed at night, it's so nice to just do whatever I want to do or watch whatever show I want to watch without him complaining. :

    I love the days I get at home when DH is gone or at work. I agree that you should take total advantage!
