i have a half a glass here and there, or a sip of beer since it is Abita Strawberry season. I feel no guilt. Some of my friends moms swear by having a beer a day. HAHAHA. Don't know if I'd take it that far but their kids are happy, smart and successful, so who knows.

I know it. The season started in early February and I literally brought my first six pack home and then found out I was pregnant. DH was drinking them around me and I wanted to punch him in the face. Literally. I have two in the fridge now, and I think I may have half of one when I get home! It is Friday, after all!

I have to second this! It tastes like liquid Berry Trix.
What did your doctors/midwives say about drinking? My midwives said they don't recommend it at all anymore for pregnant women which makes me incredibly sad, I don't know that I agree with it but because they said no it makes me nervous
no way, i would feel way too weird going it. it's not that hard to abstain for 9 months from something. shrugnbsp;
This. I love my beer but I can wait. If anything ever happened, whether the alcohol was directly related or not, I'd never forgive myself. It's just not worth it...even though I really want it!

My doc, who is awesome is totally fine with an occasional drink. She did with both her pregnancies and I did with my previous two. My first child from the words of her teachers is the most articulate in her class...
You are fine to have a glass of wine or beer!!
I did research in medical journals a while back and all the European studies say an occasional drink is fine. There was a big UK study with 11k kids who were tested at 9 months and then 5 years. Mothers who has 1 to 2 drinks of wine a week showed no difference for thier children in all categories measured. I found basically no US studies that were big.
I'm have one a week and my OB said occasional is fine. In America no doctor is ever going to say it's okay. There is to many lawsuits.
I miss sipping drinks, but I haven't had any alcohol yet, and I most likely will keep it up throughout the pregnancy. I think I would feel incredibly guilty if I had any.
In the 1st tri, I had a week where I kept having dreams that I would drink, sometimes I just forgot I was pregnant, sometimes I knew I was pregnant, but justified drinking anyway. My subconcious just wants to get lit, I guess.
I miss beer and whiskey like you wouldn't believe.
That being said, I just don't feel comfortable drinking. I'll have a sip of my DH's beer, but total, I think that's happened 4 or 5 times. And I'm talking a sip. It's not worth it to me. Booze will still be there when this kid comes out, I'm pretty sure.
I haven't had any but my grandma swore up and down having sips of beer helped her morning sickness. I have had three days no sickness so hopefully I'm in the clear now.
Re: Wine
I'm SO HAPPY I am not alone. I won't have more than 1 glass once a week and OMG does it make so happy.

This. I'm not a big drinker to begin with so it rly doesn't bother me to go without.
