Hi ladies,
This might be a dumb question, but I'm going to see if y'all know anything about this anyway.
I just got a positive on an HPT, first IVF, I don't have my beta for 2 more days, so I stress the EARLY part, as in I'm still waiting to see if this is all real.
My question is, I have a massage envy membership and I'd real like to great myself to a massage tonight. Does anyone think this early on that could harm anything. I'm cautious about everything right now.
Thank you,

Yours doesn't have to be a sad story
I was told no massages during the first trimester. I went in for a massage on vacation when I was 14 weeks and said they didn't do massages in the first trimester, until they realized 14 weeks wasn't the 1st trimester.
I bet a lot of places, even that do prenatal massage, won't even do massages in 1st tri.
You should check with your RE. Mine said absolutely no massage until the 2nd Tri. There are pressure points that can trigger uterine contractions, which you don't want at this point.
Congrats on the +HPT!
I, too, was told no massages during first tri. I've been to massage envy for a prenatal massage and they do know what they are doing, but I would not risk it this early. If something did happen after, I would always wonder if the massage played a role in it. I know that you can skip a month at massage envy and carry them to the next month, so I would just do that.

Congrats on your BFP! I personally would not do it, even if they said the person was skilled enough to give massages during pregnancy. We all fought too hard to get here and it's not worth it, IMO. I have considered getting one later in pregnancy, like when I'm on vaca at 20 weeks, but even that makes me nervous.
Good luck with your beta!

I personally think the pressure point thing is a bit of an urban myth - like being told not to lift your arms over your head or the cord will get tangled up. I've never had a doctor tell me to avoid massages or pressure points. But that's my 2 cents.

That's pretty concerning to me. We were instructed to tell our clients that we appreciated their business and were more than happy to freeze their account until they hit second trimester and were cleared by their OBGYN, that way they weren't paying for a membership they couldn't use for a few months, and also so that they didn't feel like they were losing out on any massages they had all ready paid for. Every therapist in our clinic stated that they ran the risk of losing their license if they performed massage in first trimester and if they were asked to conduct 'induction' practices. I'm really glad that you didn't have any issues!
