For about five seconds, we had our list narrowed down to two and were ready to go to the hospital and choose from the two when we met her. Those two were Tessa Jane and Isla Jane.
Suddenly, I'm questioning whether they're too 'trendy.' DD1 is Chloe Anne, which I consider somewhat tendy vs. classic. But Chloe is a very old name, whereas Tessa is sort of evolved from Teresa, and I honestly don't know a lot about Isla aside from knowing it's Scottish and pretty, haha.
Anyway, I do like more classic names as well, and both Audrey and Amelia were on the list at one point. Or even using our middle name, Jane, as a FN with Amelia as a MN. My worries about Audrey and Amelia are the lack of a short nickname; this is admittedly big for us, as we even call DD "Chlo" for short. For Amelia...Mia? Mila? Millie? Gah. And I can't even think of anything for Audrey except "Aud," which sounds kind of weird. But I guess so does "Chlo," lol.
And our backup name for DD, Annabel, has crept back.
So, in the running:
Tessa Jane
Isla Jane
Audrey Jane
Amelia Jane
Jane Amelia
Annabel Jane
What say you?

Re: Ahhh names! Long and venty.
I would use Amy or Mia as a nn.
I love Isla.
also, DH's Aunt's name is Audrey and we all just call her Aud which sounds funny to me.
I like Tessa (I may be biased because I have a friend named Tessa
).
I also like Amelia (maybe 'Lia as a nn?)

I should've mentioned that Amie is my name, so any form of Amy as a nn is out. ;
Also, Amelia is a huge family name on my side...there are at least three Amelia's in my ancestry. Jane is an important family name from H's side and has to be included somehow.

Good point...the "classics," although timeless, are also on trend right now, so they're more likely to be popular. Hmm.
my read shelf:
When Audrey was on our list we planned on using Audie as a NN.
I really like Amelia Jane. You can call her Lia, Amy, "Meals"
I didn't read your second post before I posted this. I like Lia as a short version as well.
This! Isla being my favorite, but I love the NN Mila. It was actually one of our options for a girl.

Yesss I love Thomas Hardy. This is one of the reasons I love the name.
But, I have read things that hint at the fact that Tess's full name must've been Teresa even though Hardy never mentions it, because it was a common nickname for Teresa in the 1700s. I like to believe he was ahead of his time, though. ;]
I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

This! Amelia was at the top of my girls list. My aunt Amelia goes by Amy.
Isla Jane- like a lot
Audrey Jane- like a lot (also what about Audra?)
Amelia Jane- I don't LOVE Amelia but it's okay. What about Amelie, another French name to go with Chloe? Or Amalia? You could do the nn Molly.
Jane Amelia- I don't like the flow, but I do like jane.
Annabel Jane- like.

Audrey Jane is my vote. Audrey would have been LO's name if we were having a girl!!
Also...I'm not a nn person so not being able to shorten Audrey is a plus for me lol
