When did you drop with your 1st?

The office manager looked at me today and said I had dropped...the baby used to be up real high and is lower.  I thought maybe it was too early but then I noticed my heartburn has gotten alot better.

When did you drop?

How soon after you dropped did you go into labor?

I have a feeling she is going to come before her due date and she has been in the correct position for 2-3 months now.....

Re: When did you drop with your 1st?

  • my baby was high and low cause i have such a short torso, but i remember feeling that low pressure from about 30 weeks on and my midwife said she was reaaaaaally low in my pelvis from about that point, and I went into labor at 36w2d and delivered her on 37w1d

  • I never really dropped and went into labor on my own at 40weeks, 5days.

Everyone always commented on my belly if it was high or low. It actually got really annoying! A zillion people a day saying either "you are going soon," or "oh it will still be a while!" etc.

  • I never dropped! Had a c-section at 39w1d (after a failed induction) because he was still too high up and too big!! :)

I hope she comes soon!!! You're lucky your heartburn is better. I was dying right down to the last second... popping tums and taking Alka seltzer while in L&D! That said, I haven't taken a single tums in the past 3 weeks. :)

  • I didn't drop until the day I went into labor. I kept looking at my belly wondering if is dropped yet and always asked my mom if she could tell but nothing until I went into actual labor.

  • I never dropped, and we made it to his due date.

  • I never dropped either. Sophia got too big when she was still high which landed me in a c-section birth.

Woohoo for your HB being better! That is a good sign that you did drop. Towards the end there everything I ate kinda stayed in my throat for a while. Tums were my BFF!

  • I don't think I ever officially dropped. I carried Mikey very very low for a long time and still ended up in a c-section because he was stuck. Yay for feeling better, you probably have dropped.
  • I swear, every time I come on here with a question or something going on, you post about it too! We must be neck-in-neck with each other as far as symptoms and everything going on :)

I also really feel like the baby has dropped this week. I have all of a sudden started having a lot of symptoms that I have not had before (overall pressure/tightening, very sharp pains and contractions in lower abdomen, difficulty walking and off-balance, easier to breathe, very sharp lower back pains...) These are all things that from everything I have read on "dropping," seems to make sense. I go for my 36 week checkup today so I should be able to find out.??

    How are you feeling otherwise??

  • Right around 32 or 33 weeks, but I never dropped a lot lower after that.  It was just enough to relieve some of the horrible carpel tunnel syndrome in my hands and the sciatica in my back..
  • I actually have been thinking this over since I first saw your post.  I know it was definitely after 35 weeks b/c I had my shower that week and had not dropped.  I think it was around 37 weeks, maybe a bit earlier.  I delivered at 38 weeks 2 days, so after I dropped it was maybe a week or two?  Hard to remember now!  But I definitely remember feeling that I had started to waddle, which I had trying desperately to avoid doing.  That was the only symptom of dropping--I actually felt bigger than ever.  At my 38 week checkup, the doctor was happy that he was really low.  I gave birth only a few days after that checkup.
