January 2014 Moms

First Timer Intro and So Excited!!!

Hi!! I just found out on 5/3 that we're pregnant and a little automated calculator says that I'm due January 13, 2013.  :)))) We had been trying for about 6 months and I'm a 33, so I was starting to wonder if all was ok. I couldn't be happier to be starting on this exciting journey. Doesn't it seem surreal??

Here's a random question: is anyone else getting cramps? Like period cramps pretty regularly?

Yay! My EDD is January 13th too (though I'm guessing you meant 2014) :). I'm having cramps too, but had my second betas done today and everything went up right on track, so all is well.  Some people get cramps around when their period would be due (like today for me) so it can be a pretty normal thing.

  • Hahaha! Yay! Kschref we're due on the same day!! And whoops, yeah 2014.  :)  Glad to hear the cramping can be normal. I guess it just wasn't something I had heard about before or expected. I have a lot of learning to do!

I had cramping in the beginning with my first. I had actually thought I was getting my period for the first few days until I took a HPT.
    Congrats and welcome!

  • Welcome! I had pretty consistent cramping last week, it felt like my period was going to start. It has slowed down considerably over the last few days. I asked my RE and he said as long as I wasn't bleeding and my betas were going up not to worry. And you're right, it does seem surreal. It's something that is abstract for so long and it's hard to believe that it is actually happening!

  • I had some light cramping. I don't really get period cramps all the time, but I think it's normal!

  • I am cramping too. I read this is normal though as the uterus starts to expand.

  • I have been feeling like I was getting my period the whole time, which is why I didn't do a test till I was 7 days late! One thing my sister said when she was expecting, was that she didn't realise how painful pregnancy was! Sore tummy, sore back, sore boobs, sore joints, sore muscles, heartburn etc etc. yay we have so much to look forward to haha!!
