Kettle bells?

If you use kettle bells what do you do with them? Did you make up your own routine or do you use a DVD? What size weights do you use? What about YH?

MH the jerk just recently dropped all the weight I've been trying to lose since January. He's convinced me to do a little home gym and wants kettle bells but I don't know anything about them.

Re: Kettle bells?

  • I've never used them, but I hate when men do half the work and receive 2x the results. I've been busting my asss since November to receive the same results as DH, and he just started with working out 2 months ago. AsshoIes.

  • We used to use kettlebells back in the day when I worked at a fitness center. About 5 years now. My favorite exercises were kettlebell swings, pulls, and the Turkish get up. You could prob look them up online.

The gym I belong to now doesn't have them, but I was actually thinking about taking a drop in class at a studio in my area.

The weight depended on the exercise for me. I could use anywhere from 8 to 30 lbs.

  • I use kettle bells at my gym.  I do squats, lunges, lifts, walks....there are funky names the trainers use for variations of all of these things, but on this board I know they will all be taken the wrong way!

For lunges, squats, and the walks I generally use 44lbs (usually just one in those cases).  For overhead lifts I generally use two 18lb ones.
