This new little picky eating nonsense is going to cause a mommy meltdown over here! My son's pedi warned me of this day but at that time I thought, not my good eating boy. Never say never!
Austin has been picky recently too- and he is just not finishing his meals. I get so upset over it, but apparently it is apart of being a toddler.
However, DH told me he ate his breakfast this morning- he gave him green beans and waffles. Um, ew!!! I don't know why my H thought it would be a good idea to offer green beans for breakfast!

Oh no! I am NOT looking forward to that phase! My son will eat ANYTHING. As in... turnip greens, collard greens, pickles, fish, broccoli, cauliflower, coleslaw, all fruits and vegetables.... I will be so sad if this happens! The only thing that he won't eat (and he tried but gagged with the texture) is oatmeal. Hopefully the phase will be short lived!
I asked my pedi about this at Nolan's 15 month appointment because I was feeling like a short-order cook. She said to offer whatever he doesn't eat at meals again at snack time. She also said to only make one main thing at each meal.
Nolan struggled with weight gain in the beginning. He is fine now, but I am traumatized so I was making him a bunch of different things until I found something he would eat. Since his weight is fine, he gets one main choice now. He caught on pretty quickly!
