Cheese Question

Last night I was at a bachelorette party, yep, not much fun when you're prego. Anyways, I ate the Qudoba queso dip and today someone mentioned that its not pasteurized. I never thought of that being an issue, I know I can't have soft cheeses like Brie, feta, blue cheese etc. but I never thought of queso. Has anyone heard this before? Now I'm worrying...

I was never told to avoid queso but have seen online that a certain type should be avoided. I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe mention it at your next appointment and see what the doctor says about it.

My OB told me to avoid queso but I had never heard of it either until he told me. Don't worry. I think most of the food warnings (except for fish) refer to the quantity. I'm sure if you only ate it once, you will be just fine. Everything in moderation!

I bought pasteurized queso fresco yesterday, so it can be pasteurized. It was from a local farm, I was excited to find it! Honestly, I think it would be hard to find anything unpasteurized in a store or restaurant though.

This. I asked a guy at a cheese counter about pasteurized brie and he looked at me like I was nuts. He was like uh... all of our brie is pasteurized.

Also, a lot of restaurant queso is really fake cheese like velvetta. Maybe it is fine.

Queso dip is made of mostly processed stuff so I can assure you it's pasteurized. There is no way that Quoda is selling unpasteurized cheese products. Not to mention its hot. Queso fresco as someone mentioned may not be pasteurized if it was imported. Those two products are entirely different though
