Okay so I am newly pregnant with my third baby. I have had two cesareans one in may 2008 the other in June 2010. I am due dec 2013 which will probably mean cesarean sometime in November for me.
My second cesarean got extremely dangerous unexpectedly. my daughter got stuck in my rib cage she was born purple and blue from accidental bruising by the dr in order to remove her. On top of that, I was in active labour during my cesarean and I contracted while the dr had her hands in my uterus to remove baby. Her hands were trapped and the entire surgical room acted frantically tipping the OR table I was on so that my feet were elevated in the air as they sprayed under my tongue with nitro in an effort to relax my uterus to free the drs hands. I passed out and woke up with an oxygen mask on my face and seeing a pediatric team trying to revive my daughter as she was not breathing. She was in NICU for 1 week and I was in hospital during that time. During recovery a nurse had removed my suture tape too early and I had to watch my incision reopen and become infected for the following weeks to come.
2 years later I now have a 2 inch mass of hard 'scar tissue' from where my incision came open. I also had a hernia I am absolutely terrified to have another cesarean after that and don't know what my options are
Aren't there already risks after 2 cesareans ? How will they do a cesarean with that kind of scar tissue there ?

Re: ANXIETY third cesarean risks
I have only had one. So I'm sorry my words probably won't help.
Have you talked to your doctor about this?? I would get a pad and pen and write all your questions and concerns down and ask your doc.
I've heard of having c-sections within a year is or can be unsafe for mom and baby. But you are okay there.
I'm sorry I'm not very helpful.
Just make sure to go over your concerns with your doc. Explain you want them to get to you before you are on labor. Your experience definitely sounds very traumatic. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
That sounds like a very scary situation! Glad you and your DD made it through okay.
Do you know if any providers in your area support VBAC after two c-sections? It's supported by ACOG, and that might be something to think about if you're worried about a third c/s.

I would discuss attempting a VBAC. I plan on having one next time myself...praying all goes well. Just got to find a very supportive provider...midwives in with OBs is whee I would look first.
Mom to Carter (6), and Calianne (1).
Proud VBAC, natural birth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering momma!

If your current OB says no, seek a second opinion. Is there an active local ICAN chapter near you? They would be able to help you with providers who support VBA2C. Good luck!
