How far will you travel?

Mobile. How far will you travel?

How far are you from the hospital you will deliver at?

Re: How far will you travel?

  • Our house is literally across the street from our hospital. We technically could walk if we wanted to.

  • About 25 minutes.
  • We currently live about 20 minutes from our hospital, but we're moving a little further away. Should still be less than 1/2 an hour, and when it's time, I guarantee that it will not take DH 20 minutes to get there. Haha!

  • For me. I recently discovered that our landlords are selling the house we are renting. I now have to decide if I want to stay with my current doc, who will be an hour away from my house, or if I want to switch to a doc/hospital about 30 minutes from my house.

    I just can't decide!

I guess it depends on how much you love your Dr. For me, I drive 45 minutes for all my Dr. Appts because I love her so much and I don't mind the drive. Luckily, she will be delivering the baby at the hospital across the street.

  • about 30 minutes on average.

it could be as much as 45 during peak traffic times, as little as 20 when no one is on the road.

It is about the same distance as a couple other hospitals. we live in a Seattle suburb so there are tons of good choices - love this city!

  • The hospital is about 45 minutes to an hour away.
  • 20 miles, a total of 30 minutes...no such thing as traffic in this Colorado city :P. I'm a pharmacist at the hospital so if I go into labor i just have to walk to the other side of the building.

  • 10 minute walk from our house. Depending on how I'm feeling I may just walk there. DH is visually impaired so I either I would have to drive myself or get someone to drive me.

    This

  • from home: its 15-30 min depending on traffic.

from work: 45-75 again depending on traffic.

mind you, those are *legal* times... and we all know following speed limits is rare now

though I may have to fight if I go into labor at work since *technically* I work for a hospital that is on the way to mine. And my coworkers would likely call an ambulance instead of letting me be picked up (I'm not in the actual hospital. I work for the hospital at an offsite location)

  • No traffic, I can make it in about 30-35 mins.   If there is traffic (if anyone knows 440 or 40 in Raleigh,NC,  they know what I'm talking about), then anywhere from 45-hour (also depending on the time of day).
  • We're only about 5 miles away, nice easy drive!
  • About 30 min Depending on traffic and red lights.

  • 3545 minutes..we live in a very small town in the country..that's a usual drive for us tho since that's the nearest town for bigger things like hospital, shopping, whatever..last time it took dh about 20 minutes at 4am
  • About 35 minutes.

  • We are about 2 hours from the hospital. But we will be staying with my mother for the last week or so and she lives about 30 mins from the hospital
  • The first time, the hospital I delivered at was about 40 minutes away- down back roads and there was no "quick" way to get there.  It was a miserable drive, plus driving 40 min to and from each Dr. appointment was a pain.  This time we are delivering at a hospital that's about 25 minutes away, but it's a lot of highway so there's the worry of rush hour traffic on the way there- we'll see what happens!
  • About an hour, but 45 minutes of that is good highway so we shouldn't hit much for traffic until we get to the city.
  • We're about 6 miles away.  Average drive time in that area is 15 minutes.

  • 3 miles, happy lady
  • We are 6 miles away.
In the summer, this place is crawling with tourists. So, it will take about 20 minutes.

  • We are about 20 minutes from the hospital I will deliver at.

  • We're about 45 minutes away from the hospital I'll be delivering at.  While there is a hospital that's closer, it's more geared toward geriatrics and vacation related injuries (think island living).
