Hello all,
Id like your opinion on this. I got a few texted pictures of my son (15 mo.) at day care having a blast in their blow up pool. He has a diaper on. One of the pictures I received showed a sliver of the day care owners nephew who is 4 not wearing a diaper or swim shorts. You can only see his hip and leg. At first it didnt bother me, but when I sent the picture to my mother in law (just to show her a pic of her grandson), she responded that it made her feel like it was inappropriate. Then I got to thinking I was missing something...
We trust the daycare and feel like he is getting the best care. Our son loves it there and is clearly having a blast and she sends us text picture of our son all the time which we love and have never had any reason to worry.
Thoughts, opinions? How would your handle this and approach the subject with the daycare?
Thanks,
Re: daycare dilema- WWYD
I think nakedness at this part of their lives is ok IMO. If the other little boy was 10 then maybe that might be inappropriate.
If you trust them and feel like he's receiving the best care then don't worry about it.
It might have been inappropriate to to send a picture with a half naked child but I don't think it was done intentionally. She snapped a cute pic of your kiddo and this other child happen to end up in it.
Your MIL is overthinking this.
Personally... I feel like 4 is too old for the "naked outside" game. I would gently address it with the daycare and say that you are uncomfortable with it. Maybe the older boy was in the middle of changing or something??? IDK... Gl.
Thank you for all of your responses! It makes me feel better. I was goi ping to speak with the daycare owner tonight, but another parent s there and I did t want to make a scene. I will talk with her tomorrow. I really feel it was unintentional and pretty harmless, but needs to be addressed for boundaries sake.
i appreciate having this board to share things. Thanks again!
