Long story short...As I mentioned a few days back on Thursday afternoon after a 24 hour urine collection my OB called and said that while my BPs have been low there was protein in my urine and given the concern about that in connection to my blood clotting disorder I needed to report to L&D that evening for induction.
She was very respectful of my desire for an intervention free birth and we tried the foley bulb to start induction, it took me from 1 cm to 3 cm overnight. Friday included two rounds of cytotec which only got me to a 4. Saturday ended with a lot of piotcin and an epidural. NONE of this was part of my intervention free natural hippie like birth plan but I always knew that with the "high risk" diagnosis things could go many different ways.
I will spare the scary details that include a heart rate drop, oxygen masks etc to say that our daughter Leila Marie was born April 27 at 10:35 pm weighing 6lbs 13oz and 19 and 3/4 inches long. We are home now and trying to get the hang of breastfeeding. So far our cockapoo Hurley has been great with her!
