let's discuss this baby bath

it seems like more trouble than it's worth

Re: let's discuss this baby bath

  • Uh, WTF?  What happened to just sticking the kid in the sink?  Or one of those simple little infant tubs.  This is totally obnoxious and unnecessary.  It's a bath for crying out loud -- water, vessel, soap -- not that complicated.

  • It seems like more of a cute photo prop than a bath..
  • I predict lots of recalls in the future for this. That is all.

  • I've actually been considering registering for it.  It's safe to put in the dryer from what  heard.  You just have to make sure it drys or mold and and smell get's to be an issue.

mold is exactly why I wouldn't want one. Even if it can go in the dryer, what a pain to deal with. You can't throw it in there sopping wet. So it has to dry a little and then you have to remember to put in? No thanks.

I was planning on getting one, too. It would save my back from bending over the bathtub. And it seems more "comforting" than the plastic tubs. DS always seemed to feel like he was falling when we had him in the little plastic tub that had the hammock thing. I hated that stupid tub!

  • I think it's cute as fuuhhhk but also impractical as fuhhk.

  • LMAO I seriously just opened up one of these like 5 minutes that I got in the mail today as a gift. Guess I will find out how easy it is. My MIL thinks every baby gadget is something that everyone needs to have.

  • I wouldn't mind one for the early months. Looks comfy to me. You probably do need to have one of those larger sinks. I don't know why this would put anyone off really...

  • I've seen that before. I guarantee my kids would have cracked the back of their head on the counter. Even the pictures show the kids are placed just right with their head on a petal. My kids wiggle. Their heads would have slipped through and fallen back on the counter. No thank you. We like our regular baby bath just fine.

  • I can barely manage to keep dirty dishes and scuzz out of my kitchen sink for longer than a 24 hour period. No way am I going to take the time to do all the dishes and scour the sink every time I want to give the kid a bath. Regular old plastic insert in the tub for me!

  • I don't care how ridiculous it is. It is freaking adorable!
  • I do know someone who used it in the regular bathtub when the baby was big enough to sit up on its own.  The baby just sat on it for cushioning in the tub I guess.

  • well considering  I don't have a large stainless steel sink, 10 feet of granite counter tops to dry my baby on, or a laundry room right off my kitchen to wash that thing after every use, this might not be so practical for me.

Word. High five for old- kitchens with tiny shallow sinks!

  • I suppose it is cute, but a waste of money in my opinion. All baby baths are. I have always just used the sink or sat in the bathtub with my daughter. It's way too much work to use a separate tub for all of that.

  • My friend got one for a shower and she liked it. But she did say it didnt fit in most of her sinks. It dries quick. And I saw someone else who used it as a non slip pad for her toddlers bubble baths.

He'll I'd use it for myself to keep my back off the cold porcelain during my bubble baths
  • This seems like a crazy space waster to me, but I don't have the sink space for this to happen.

For anyone that will be using the sink, I think this one is ingenious:

Looks like it would be super easy to keep clean, and it folds flat  which is a must imo.

My sister had this one and its what I plan to use as well.  I have a bad back and it's hard enough bathing the dog in the tub.

I was looking at this one because our kitchen sink is huge and I don't want to bend over a lot to the bathtub when our baby is really little.

Can you use this one in the kitchen sink?  All the pics are in the tiny bathroom sink.  I worry the faucet isn't high enough.  Did your sister ever use it in the kitchen?

I found one of these on clearance at Target for $11. Score! There isn't much I hate more than kneeling by the bathtub, except maybe giant plastic baby tubs I have to find space for.
