Diaper changes have gotten really difficult with my 9 mo old. He throws a tantrum every time we lay him down for one. I have tried everything from singing and giving him a toy to all types of distractions. Will he out grow this soon?
My DS went through a stage like this for about a week or so. He wanted to flip over and play with everything around him and when I wouldn't let him he would have a complete meltdown. He still does if he's tired or hungry but for the most part he's gotten past it. Freaked me out at first. LOL!
give him a stuffed animal or something to entertain him while you are changing. this along with singing and being super animated has helped w/ LO"s changes lately! she's become quite the squirmy lil girl! and if this doesn't work screw it, change him on the floor! good luck!
My LO went through this phase, too. Right now we are dealing with the fact she won't sit still long enough for me to change her diaper. She's quite the wiggle worm. I have a few toys that I keep at her changing table JUST for diaper changes so it's not a toy she's used to getting. It's like a fun new toy each time she gets her diaper changed and keeps her distracted long enough to get the job done!

Our DD rarely lays still for a diaper change anymore. We usually end up chasing her around with the diaper while she plays and put it on her while she's standing. We pretty much gave up on forcing her to lay on her back.
I try her pacifier or I give her a clean diaper to hold and then I hold one and sing to her while I change her.. Lately it has been a pain. She does this bumpy butt move where she gets up on her heels and thrusts her hips. I've been changing her on the floor in fear of her falling off!
Re: Diaper changes
My LO started right before he turned 10 months and is still going strong.
