I got the results back from the fetal fibronectin test and it was negative, which means there's only a 1% chance that I will go into labor in the next week or two. So that took a little bit of the weight off my shoulders. Then this morning I went to see the MFM doc and they did an ultrasound, first of the baby to get his measurements and stuff and then they did an internal to check my cervix.
The baby is completely healthy and head down. In fact, his head is wedged pretty good and low, which explains all the crotch pains I have when moving at all. His estimated weight is 4lbs 5oz, and I asked how accurate that was and they said that their machines are accurate within 3oz. They said he should put on about 1/2 pound a week from here on out, so if born full term he should be a good sized baby. Got a 4D image of his face, or as much of it as we could see because he had his hands up by his face, but he's got some chubby cheeks from what we could tell. ![]()
Then they checked my cervix and said that it is measuring about 2 cm, which they said was ok for this point in my pregnancy. They said they of course can't guarantee that I won't go into labor early because anything could happen, but that everything looks good so the chances of early labor are probably pretty low.
I am so relieved that everything seems to be ok and he's healthy and growing really well. Hopefully he will stay put until June, or at least the end of May. We're all getting so close to holding our little ones in our arms! ![]()
