Just being nosy...

So, I know we are all supposed to be anonymous but I was just wondering:

What state is everyone from?

What does everyone do for a living? Do you find the pregnancy effects your work?

I'm from NJ...5 min away from NY. I am a Residential Counselor who just recently (today) got promoted to Residential Manager. I haven't been effected worked related much although I brace myself when I have to make nauseating long trips to meet my clients or go somewhere with them.

  • I'm from PA outside of Philly specifically.

Work in Human Resources. I'm more irritable than normal but that's about it!

  • From NY

I'm an ABA therapist for early intervention. I work with children ages 2 and 3 who typically are diagnosed with developmental disorders and autism.

It's been very hard to work bc I'm violently ill most of the day. I travel and I am in ppls houses. One of my kids imitates my gag! I bring a puke bag with me and now I only have 1 case due to sickness.
  • i'm in illinois (a couple hours south of chicago).

i work retail, as an overnight stocker. i typically work stocking the infant and shoe departments, which i absolutely love. but they put me wherever they need me, as well as infants and shoes (i joke that i shouldn't be so good at my job- then they wouldn't expect me to stock half the store in one night).

  • I live in Austin.

I'm a freelance writer (left a full-time job at a public library a few months ago). Working from home has been a HUGE blessing the last month or so. The morning sickness has been pretty bad and it's nice to just stay in bed all day when I need to.

  • I live in Southwest Florida.  I'm in real estate and fortunately I home office.  The sickness has made it harder to concentrate, thus not getting as much work done.

  • I'm from north Florida (about an hour 1/2 north of Orlando)

I'm a clinical research manager for a nerve regeneration company. Being pregnant hasn't affected my job too much but I travel a lot and that has made my ms much worse :(

  • Missouri. Social worker with homeless veterans.
  • My DH and I are originally from Nebraska, but the Air Force has transplanted us to Okinawa, Japan, we are here until Sept 2014..

I am stay at home mom, and the only thing I am finding I am so super tired that I can barely keep my eyes open during the day!

  • I am from Upstate, SC. I am a Plant Engineer, which is a fancy title  for head of maintenance, groundskeeping, and custodial for a school. I work for our local school district, at a small school, so I am a working manager. It has an effect on my job. Everything still gets done, but I puke in certain situations.

I will have to stop getting on a ladder soon. Doc said I could still use the riding lawnmower, but ladders were out after 2cd tri due to changing equilibrium and center of gravity. Good thing I am the boss.

  • I'm from Alabama. I work as an assistant/event planner for our Plant Manager. We build exhaust for Mercedes and Volkswagen. I work in the office, though. The only part of my work that has been affected is all the men treat me like I'm a porcelain doll all of a sudden. LOL "let me carry that for you" "don't go out on the plant floor, I'll take it out for you". Pretty funny. I always respond "I pick up my 40 pound child every day, I can handle it". But it's very sweet.

  • I'm from NJ

I work in HR and do project mgmt and analytics.  I work from home, which I love.  That certainly makes it easier if I am feeling sick or bloated, but I've been lucky to have a pretty easy pregnancy just like my last one

  • I'm in Western MD, Hagerstown to be exact. I taught high school English for 9 years in Western NY and have been a SAHM for the last 7 years.  Though two years ago I started substitute teaching on my own schedule. I work a couple days a week at the high school my son goes to. It's really nice money and a super flexible schedule. I only work when I want to.

  • The Ann Arbor area, Michigan.

I am a nurse in an IVF doctor's office...being pregnant hasn't really affected my job too much beside the morning sickness and sometimes having to throw up :
  • Upstate Ny and I'm a SAHM its a little tough with being so tired but DS is a really independent toddler we just do a lot of cereal for  dinner when dh isn't home lol.

  • I live in upstate ny, I am a veterinary technician , my pregnacy has really impacted my work as I can no longer perform Xrays and I need to be especially careful around anesthesia and what medications I can handle.
  • Oklahoma here. I'm a corporate accountant. Pregnancy has not affected me except made me a little less productive when I had really bad M/S weeks 6-9 because I had to eat every 45 minutes or so to keep the nausea at bay. Now I'm right as rain.

Maybe a little "pregnancy brain" getting me in trouble with my numbers every now and then (my short term memory has left the building), but nothing I can't clean up on reports.

  • I'm in Riverside,Ca. I am a high school teacher. Today is the first day that I have missed work due to pure exhaustion. I stayed home and slept all day. It was awesome. The hardest part has just been fatigue while trying to keep the kids motivated and engaged. I am worried about missing work to go to appointments. I don't want to look like a flake because most don't know about the baby yet.
  • I am from Northern California. I am a civil engineer for a private consulting firm. I have been a little less productive due to exhaustion, nausea and thebump lurking but still getting everything done.

  • We live in Minnesota and I am an RN! The only way this pregnancy has affected my job is the exhaustion! 12 hour shifts aren't very fun anymore! Also, the pregnancy brain has gotten me on more than 1 occasion.
  • I am from Wisconsin directly between Milwaukee and Madison. I work as a psychotherapist at a psychiatric hospital. Luckily I make my own schedule so when I was sick I chose not to work as much but now I am trying to make up for it without overwhelming myself.
  • I'm from Louisiana, I work in a small family owned restaurant, it has affected my work some as everyone works the lobby and kitchen and I can't lift heavy pots or containers of food, and I get really tired after standing all day. But I get free food on the clock and as many bathroom breaks as I need which is pretty cool haha.
  • Missouri.

I work part-time as a hospital-based pediatrician.  So far I am just nauseated and tired, but not actually throwing up, so I don't think that it's affecting my work.  I am very glad that I am part-time with this pregnancy, though - it's really, really nice napping when my son naps on my days off!

  • I'm from Philly. I am a speech pathologist and run my own practice. So far I am a little tired and once in. While have to cancel an evening client due to nausea and tiredness but overall it's been ok!
  • From So Cal. I work at a non profit community mental health agency as a therapist I'm a MFT intern. Since I work in the community, South Central to be exact, it's hard to find places that are clean bc I have to pee every 5 minutes lol plus I get really tired of driving all day.

  • I'm from Boston, MA and work in research.

I dont deal with any caustic chemicals or very infectious pathogens.  as long as I keep the normal precautions up all will be well.  I think I have a few more months before carrying boxes full of dry ice will become difficult.

  • I'm from Indiana and work at a large trauma hospital in downtown Indianapolis as a PT Wound Specialist. It's such a cool job and my boss is super supportive. My work hasn't been affected, but will get interesting when I can't use my stomach to prop up patients legs to wrap them in the coming months! I am sick at night instead of during the day, so that helps work not be so painful...

I LOVE Peru! Haven't been to Lima, but have been to Cusco, Aguas Calientes/Machu Picchu and some other small towns around there. Best trip I ever took!

Excellent to hear!  Lima is very different from the Cusco area, since it is desert.  I adore Cusco.

  • Originally from San Diego, but now I live in Southeastern Idaho. I'm a news producer for a university here. So far my pregnancy hasn't affected my work at all. I do find myself getting a little more frustrated with my reporters than usual though!
  • I am in Colorado and am in the finance industry - focusing on energy project finance (wind, solar, natural gas, etc.). My job can get a little intense at times, but so far not yet during this pregnancy! Travel towards the end could get dicey, but I cut it off at 27 weeks last time and my company was fine with that.
