Sippy cup

Have your LO's adapted to using a sippy cup? My DS wants nothing to do with it. I really planned on having him off the bottle at 1, but it's not looking promising.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get him to love it? lol

    I had the same problem with my DD not being into a sippy. I tried a zoli straw cup and she loves it. Very easy to drink from! Also do you fill the cup right to the top? It might be easier to drink from if your DS doesn't have to lean back so far to get hi

    I'll have to look into the zoli. I used to, but when I saw he was struggling lifting it, I only fill it a qtr of the way now. DS will pick up the sippy, bite the mouth part, and then throw it. I have about 3-4 different cups that I have tried. He may l

    Anja is drinking pretty well from her sippy. She only gets water in it right now. Do you give your LO juice? Maybe put something more flavorful in the sippy?

    You can check out the Boon sippys - the top is more like a bottle than most so it could be a good transition cup.

    DD loves sippys but I'm guessing big brother has more to do with it than me lol.  We've switched her daytime bottles to the sip

    DS uses the classic sippy cups I got from tuppaware. He drinks from them fine but has the occassional spill if he turns it upside down.

    I ebf so we hardly ever use bottles but when we need to I would rather give him the milk in a bottle becau

    DS uses the nuk sippy...the spout is like a nipple in that they have to suck as they do a nipple...this was good for transition..DS has had no issues.

    We use the Nuby sippy since 6 months. She only gets water in it, but had some BM this week and did fine.

    Thanks everyone! DS usually would only get water, but I've recentely added a little apple juice to give it some flavor thinking that would work, but still no interest from him. I really appreciate all the posts! :)

    DD uses a sippy cup and has for a few months.  She does great with them.  She gets water and juice watered down.

    I skipped Sippys for both of my kids and went straight to straw cups.  You could try that.   Besides, a Sippy is just one more habit to break down the road.

    DS turns it upside down and pours it over his head doesnt look like having it down by one will happen for us either but we'll see

    DD loves her straw sippy cup much more than the others. She will drink from the standard sippy, but doesn't hold it herself and has difficulty tipping it back on her own. She will grab for her straw sippy cup and hold it to her mouth and use the straw eas

    I'd second the zoli cup suggestion.  My son tried it by accident at a friends house at about 6 months and loved it.  I was worried about the cost but I bought him one and once he had the hang of that he was able to switch to the standard sippy.&

    My LO likes to attempt to drink the entire sippy cup worth at once. That's the issue we have at the moment. I think it just takes time and practice...
