food allergies and sweaty feet

I am posting about food allergies and sweaty feet.

So this morning my friend posted a link to an article about parents with kids who have food allergies and playgrounds. I should try to find the link. Basically telling parents who bring food to the playground how much harder it is for the parents of kids with food allergies because they have to watch everything touches and or eats. They go on to suggest how you can make your kid sit down to eat, bringing better foods, and washing their hands thoroughly afterwards to help prevent their kids from accidentally touching something that they may be allergic to. I thought this would be an interesting discussion on the board. I'm a first time Mom so I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I guess if my kid has allergies I might see things differently. My initial reaction to the article was "really, it's my fault that your kid has..." and I know I shouldn't have reacted that way. Maybe it was the wording of the article....

On a side note, why is it, I am cold, I'm wearing flip flops, and my feet are horribly sweaty? UGH!!!!

  • When I take my girls out where I know there will be lots of other kids I try to pack snacks that don't have nuts because that is a big one but other than that I don't really give it much thought.

  • Yeah, we are pretty much anti peanut butter in public.  When I was pregnant with DS, I thought "that is CRAZY that you can't take certain foods to school because OTHER kids have allergies".  Fast forward to DS turning 2, and we discovered (th

  • I can't speak to HAVING kids with food allergies, but I can speak to BEING a kid with one...I found out when I was 7 that I'm allergic to peanuts. Because of it, I had to learn how to take care of myself and understand why I couldn't eat what other kids
