Do most people purchase a baby changing table or convert a dresser? Wondering if covering a dresser is as safe and would love to hear others experiences!
I'm a FTM, but we are getting a dresser rather than changing table. A dresser will be much more useful down the road and you can still store diapers, wipes, etc. in it. The dresser we chose is a short dresser. The changing pad goes right on top and it's j
Mine is a dresser with a built in place for the changing pad and a hutch. I received it as a handmedown. Otherwise, we would have just covered a dresser. I can't see why it wouldn't be as safe as an actual changing table.

I'm a FTM so this isn't based on actual experience, but I originally planned to not get anything because of the fact that you end up changing anywhere. I figured some extra burp clothes and the floor, bed, couch, etc would suffice. I then d
We are getting a dresser for the nursery with one of those contoured changing mats on top. But since our house is two stories and we spend much more time downstairs, we are getting a changing table to put in one of the downstairs rooms so we don't h
I'm a STM and I got a dresser changer combo for my DD. After she didn't need the changer anymore I was able to put toys and books and such in the top. I plan on doing the same thing this time around. I don't have room for a separate changing table, and do
We bought a changing table from BRU that is basically just a dresser with a changing pad on top. No rails or anything. I love it, so I assume you totally could just buy a dresser and convert it.
Good to hear! We just bought all of our nursury furniture (MIL was excited to buy it for us) and we opted for a dresser with contoured changing pad on top.
Dresser (the tall ones for a tall DH) with a changing pad on top. Totally safe. My kid is still alive. And still loves us. And still hasn't fallen off.

I use a changing table. We keep clothes in the dresser, so where would I put the diapers and wipes? I don't want junk just piled on the floor or covering the dresser. The changing table is perfect. It has two levels under the to
Also, I can't imagine having to get down on my hands and knees every time I needed to change his diaper. Sounds like a major hassle. Especially once I get bigger pregnant. Ouch! I change DS on his changing table or on the pack and
Re: Changing table vs dresser
We did changing table because DD's old room had a walk in closet. Now her closet is tiny and I wish we did a dresser.
PSA: make sure you anchor your furniture, especially dressers, to the wall.
We have this dresser (IKEA Malm 3 - drawer) with a changing pad on top.
The changing pad is "anchored" to the dresser. I do

We are probably going to do a changing table or just the pad and do it on the floor or even in the crib.
The dresser were are using in a long dresser, but it curves in the middle and wouldn't work with a pad.
