My friend is just starting her third tri and was told by her doc that they are now recommending all pregnant women get the TDAP vaccine in their 3rd tri with every pregnancy. Apparently, it passes on immunity to baby since they can't get it for a couple of months.
Has anyone else heard of this? Would you get it? My doc hasn't even brought it up, but it's still quite early. lol
ETA: I'm not asking about the TDAP in general. I'm asking for the TDAP specifically while pregnant. Not post-partum. Not if you had it after having a child. Just specifically if you will get it during your third tri no matter how long it's been since your last one.

I heard this too. I was stupid last time and didn't get it after my son was born. I thought I still had immunity since I had it when I was a kid. Needless to say I learned my lesson because my aunt and uncle were diagnosed with whoopi
Yeah, my midwife encouraged me to get it when I was pregnant with my last baby. I probably will with this one too.
So I actually just talked with my doctor about it this morning. She referred to it as an "elective vaccine" and said that unless I had a risky exposure that she would not encourage me to get it while pregnant.

I don't remember exactly but I believe the adult booster shot is good for 8-10 years, so most of us STMs will not require another one.
