2nd Trimester

Getting Paranoid!

I am currently 17 weeks preggers and I have an appointment this afternoon. I couldn't sleep at all last night and all this morning I have been freaking out about every worst case scenario. I even took additional PG tests last night and 2 this morning.

The second trimester is so far the worst, no morning sickness or feelings at all to reassure me that the lil booger is still there!

I had a miscarriage last year so I am sure that is why I am paranoid but I just can't seem to get control over this.

  • maybe get a doppler? hearing the heartbeat should be a great comfort in knowing the baby is OK , at least until it starts kicking :)

  • A heart beat dopper sounds like it would be good for you. Just make sure you get a good one so you don't get any questions.

  • I started feeling our LO around 19 weeks, but often mistook it for gas movement. It'll get easier around the 22 week when you can usually start feeling them really move. Seeing LO at the a/s helped me so much too. Hang in there. <img src="https://community

  • I also agree that a doppler is a bad idea. My MW has struggled at every appointment (and at some appointments, even failed) at finding this LO's heartbeat. And she knows what she's doing.

I agree that it'll get easier once you start feeling

I am going to have to disagree with the others in that you shouldn't get a doppler.  If you are already paranoi

  • Completely agree with not getting a Doppler. I borrowed a friends and convinced myself that I wouldn't freak out if I couldn't find it, but after trying for a few minutes, I gave up and freaked out anyway. I've seen the hb and had two ultrasounds since th
  • I personally have had a wonderful experience w my sonoline b Doppler. I had a Mc as well and I have found the doppler to be a life saver. I have even stopped using it since I started feeling LO. EBay has them.

  • First, symptoms mean nothing as to the health or viability of your pregnancy. My first loss was in first trimester and I was sick as a dog until I found out the baby died weeks earlier.

In the same vein, a pregnancy test will stay positive lo

  • Totally normal to feel this way at the stage you are at! I had this with my first daughter and with this pregnancy. From the time the first tri symptoms start to fade away to when you start feeling your baby move can be really worrisome. Try not to worry,
