Updated - Ts and Ps, please

I'm camped out at the doctor's office waiting for him to get in. I awoke to intense periodlike cramps in the early morning followed by red tinged fluid gushing out. It was enough to stain my pajamas and sheets. It seems to have subsided now and dry blood is all I see. So tired and worried. Thanks for any thoughts or prayers you can send our way.

Update: After a very uncomfortable vaginal exam, I got to see baby on the u/s and the heartbeat looked good and he/she was wiggling around. The test strip he jammed up my cervix was negative for amniotic fluid, but a lot of blood came back out on his fingers (gross, sorry). It looks like I have a low-lying posterior placenta and that baby is breech (not sure if he was just noting that last part or if it's relevant). I may have over-exerted myself over the weekend and he just instructed me to rest today and take it easy. No sex or strenous activity until I'm cleared. The doctor indicated it may resolve itself on it's own, but will send me to a u/s specialist in a few weeks to be sure. He also wanted to know the results of my first tri bloodwork (taken elsewhere) and I didn't have them - I guess they need to call the state of California for them? Weird. Anyways, they are looking into that today.

I sincerely appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. It's funny - I wouldn't have thought a group of "internet strangers" could comfort me, but you did. I love our board.
