Baby Showers

games at baby shower

What are some of your favorite games to play at a shower?

for a shower i threw -

Guess how many game. I put a bunch of diapers in a clear tupperware tub and asked people to guess how many diapers were in there. (i bought the diapers and tub). who ever got closest won a prize

Baby Bingo - Everyone that wanted to participate recieved a bingo card and stickers. while she was opening her gifts they could cross off things to get a bingo and a prize.

For my shower -

The ladies were giving string and had to pull off how big they thought my belly was. Then i had to let each one put the string around my belly. It was ok, but it was time consuming and if someone was feelling selfconcious then it would not go over well.

one i went to had the clothespin one where you couldn't say baby and another one where you couldn't cross your legs. I hated both of these

So what are your favorites or no games at all?

  • Most games I'll play if I have to, but would rather have not. The bingo is fun and keeps engaged through the pile of presents. I also like the little fill out on your own questions/ word games.

  • Agree that bingo and the matching games (i.e. celebrities to their baby's names, nursery rhyme lines to the title, etc.) are tolerable.  Anything that involves measuring or guessing how big the mom to be is, or involves smelling fake poop or pee in d

  • I prefer no game showers. We're adults - we don't need to be entertained. I hate showers that have mandatory games, or games that require forced craftiness - draw a picture, decorate a onesie, etc.

  • I am also in the no games camp. I play along but that's just to be a good sport not because it's something I enjoy. One time the prize was homemade blackberry jam the host had made, I fought hard to win that one.

  • I didn't have games at either of my two baby showers (same baby, two showers, two different sets of guests). Personally I don't like the games and I don't think guests like them either so my showers were just for mingling, eating and then gifts at the end
