I've been reseaching gliders/rockers for the nursery and I'm starting to reel in my budget and I'm trying to look at options other than a $700 chair. Anyone have any experience with the Poang rocker form Ikea?

The chair goes for $169 and the ottomen is another $59. And I could get it indark wood/white to match the crib we picked out. Just don't know if it's worth the savings or if I should go with a  legit glider/chair.

  • Have you tested out a glider w/ a glider ottoman? I sat in several a couple of weekends ago, and it was SO heavenly. You could literally rock yourself with just the barest flex of your muscles. It was like floating on a cloud. Far superior to a regular ro

  • I worked at IKEA for a year or so and I freaking loved those chairs. LOVE.

I found some info on apartment therapy and the biggest complaint from people was that it was low to the ground and hard to get out of while holding baby.

I'm going to give it a test run at the store

  • I wanted to get the Poang rocker when I was pregnant last time (we have the stationary chair and really liked it).  I found the rocking awkward - it really wasn't smooth.  I was pretty upset, because I really liked the look of it.  Definite
