T-Ball Gloves...

We signed our 3.5 year old son up for T-Ball this spring and the only thing we are required to purchase for him is a glove.  So I went to the sporting goods store before my evening class tonight and picked up the smallest glove I could find (a size 9 and says it fits kids under 6).  DH hadn't put the boys to bed by the time I got home so I had a chance to try it on him....it is huge!  His fingers barely even go into the holes.  Is there a special glove I need to be looking for?  Does my 3.5 year old just have unusually small hands?
