Hi! I haven't posted here before but i often visit and read eveyones posts. I am having issues with my 2 1/2 year old sleeping lately and I am hoping you guys could offer me some advise. So my son has slept in his own room and bed since the day we brought him home from the hospital. He has slept through the night with no issues since about 6 months or so.
Well lately we have had some issues with him waking up during the night but then if we took him back to his bed he would go right back to sleep. Just this past week he has gotten really bad. He won't go to sleep and is getting up multiple times a night. As soon as i put him in his bed and cover him up and leave the room he climbs out and comes out to find us. In the middle of the night if we take him back to his room as soon as we leave he gets up again.
I feel like we have tried everything. We have left the door open, he has a night light, we tried having the dog sleep with him, we tried locking him in his room, etc. The only thing that seems to work is if we sit in his room until he falls asleep or sleep with him. I dont want to let him sleep with us so i feel at least he is still in his own bed. I really dont want him to get in the habit of either my husband or I sleeping with him though.
I am not sure if he is scared or what the issue is. When I ask him he just says "cause". Do you have any advice on how to keep him in his bed and get him to sleep through the night again? I am hoping this is just a phase but i really wish it would end soon. Sorry this is so long.
Re: Sleep Issues ... Please Help
I think you just have to be consistent
Decide what you're going to do - and stick with it and explain it to him before he goes to bed (when we go through those phases I remind her at bedtime that she has to sleep in her bed, and mama & dada
