My twins are preschoolers now, but when I was pregnant, I was totally overwhelmed by how much stuff they needed and how quickly they changed sizes in clothing! When they were about a year old, I discovered consignment sale shopping and I only wish I had learned about it sooner. There is a thriving group of consignment sales that occur every spring and fall in various locations outside the city, and they have amazing selections of gently used gear/clothing/toys at the fraction of retail price. It's also a great way to pass baby/kids stuff along and make a little money once you're done with it- something I finally hope to be organized enough to do this year!
You can do a search on https://consignmentmommies.com/index.html to look for local sales, but my local favorites are:
LexFUN!'s in Lexington- https://www.facebook.com/LexFUNConsignmentSale The sale is on May 18th, and they are giving away presale passes this weekend on their FB page
ParentTalk Sale in Needham- https://www.parenttalk.info/community/used-clothing-toy-sale.php The sale is on May 4th
Western Suburban Mom of Twins Sale in Marlboro- https://www.facebook.com/TwinsTagSale Their sale is this weekend and they are letting all pregnant women in early!
Just thought I'd spread the word a little bit. Like I said, I wish I had known about this while I was pregnant, it's a very economical and environmentally friendly way to shop!
