I don't know if I'm remembering this wrong... but I feel like in one of my psycology classes they said purple was the most depressing color. For that reason I'd choose pink!
I decided to paint our baby room a neutral light beige color and accent with pinks. That way when the baby gets older and doesn't like pink or purple anymore I can change it very easily without changing the paint color.
Our daughter has an off white nursery with green, pink, blue, and brown wall stickers on it. I like that it isn't too overwhelmingly girl. I personally get sick of all of the pink. If I was you I'd use pink and purple as accent colors and not as the main
I could never every get sick of Pink, so I vote Pink. I would be curious what your bedding and stuff looked like though b/c I might change my mind on which color would look better with what you picked out.

but if it were me, I would go with a complimentary colour ( light yellow, turquoise) and use pink/purple as your accents : curtains, bedding etc.

I love purple -it is one of my favorite colors. Maybe a lavender with bright green.
