When do you take them to the doctor?

I usually don't take my kids to the doctor for coughs, colds, sniffles, etc. Our pedi isn't a big antibiotic pusher (and I'm not a big antibiotic giver or taker).

DS (3 year old) is getting over a bad cough/runny nose. Lauren definitely picked it up. She sounds awful and barely slept last night.

When do you take them in?

I always call the nurse first and ask if there is anything I can do at home. If she is concerned she tells me to come in. Some things we do for Colton (who ALWAYS has colds)
