We are having DS's 6th birthday party on Saturday at our house. The weather is not supposed to be nice, so we are planning to be indoors. It will be a few boys from school and about the same amount from outside of school, with a total of about 11 boys and maybe one girl, including my own children. We will also have grandparents, my sister, DH's brother, and my nephew.
Would you have food? The party is at 2 p.m. I am making cookies to take in to DS's school on Friday, so I am going to make cupcakes for the party. I had thought about also making a brownie pizza thing and putting the angry bird game pieces on it? Of course, there will be ice cream. I thought about getting pretzels, veggies and dip, and macaroni and cheese. We could grill hot dogs? Or I could order pizzas instead of all of that. But I am tempted to just do desserts since the party is only 2 hours and is mostly kids that hopefully the parents will feed before they drop them off. What do you think?
As for games, DS wanted the Pin the Tail on the Bird game, so we have that. Would you do anything else or just let them play?
I have also thought about taking the stuffed angry birds that we have and having them toss them through a big board or cardboard drawing, like a large version of this game.
Or I have seen a game where they draw bird faces on balls and throw them at boxes. Or we could do Star Wars Angry Birds Bingo.
For favors, I have Angry Birds space games, a coloring book pack with crayons and stickers and fruit snacks. Still trying to figure out how to package them. I may have to get gift bags.
Do you think this sounds good? We will probably also open his presents.
Re: Angry Birds Star Wars Theme
I think you're fine with desserts and snacks - cupcake, pretzels, fruit, veggies.
As for games, I love the idea of a toss game, since that's close to the actual game itself.
We are doing angry birds in may for my ds's 5th bday. We are planning on having the party from 2-4 and the invites say join us for snacks, ice cream, and cake. Food will be angry bird graham crackers, angry bird cheese nips, p
