Tapping out soon... and a thank you.

My partner and I had a big talk on the weekend, and have decided that if we don't get a BFP this cycle, I'm going to tap out for awhile and we will start trying IUI's with the hopes of getting her pregnant. We hope to be successful, and then try with my body again in the future - either with my eggs or not (if they're there).

This has been an emotional decision, full of relief and grief all wound up together. The bottom line is that I am exhausted. The ups and downs of infertility and the struggles with our clinic have worn down my resources to the point where it just feels like it has become a choice between my well-being and keeping going with my body. If I could tell anything to the Infertility Industry it would be my complete regret and sorrow at that - because I think that we could be better supported and attended to by our clinic, but that's not really what happens in clinics.

I am so thankful to you guys for the advice, words, and knowledge you've shared with us through this part of our journey. We'll be sticking around I'm sure because my DP has a blocked tube, but I'm getting prepared now to take a different road to parenthood. I hope we will continue to be welcomed as we move on in our challenges as well.

We have our beta-test for this cycle next Tuesday, and if it's negative we will probably start monitoring for my partner around the same time. It feels strange to be planning before we know the results of the cycle, but it also feels like having a plan in place so that we have things to do if we end up grieving another negative result.

I hope you guys don't have to change plans and that this is the cycle for your BFP. If it's not, good luck with the new plan, I can only imagine what a difficult decision that was for you two.

I hope that this is your cycle for that BFP, but if not, I think you are in a good place with having a plan in place. I'm sure that was a very tough decision, so GL to you both!

I am keeping my FX for a BFP this cycle but I wish you all the best in taking this next step. I am one of those people who does better knowing plan B so I understand putting together a plan before knowing if you'll need it.

That is so sad! I am sorry that you have had so much trouble! When/if you decide to start up again, try a different clinic. Not all RE offices are bad.

I'm so sorry the IF journey has been so tough on you and it makes it worse when you don't feel supported by your clinic. I hope that you won't have to think about "next time" bc you will have the BFP you have been waiting for. Hang in there and I hope you
