Ok so this has been bugging me for awhile, so I figured I would bring this to the board and see what ya'll say...
So, my girlfriend invited me over for "girls night" to hang out with her 4 & 6 year old girls. But when I showed up at her house and the girls were all dressed up and wearing makeup I was a bit taken aback. I do not mind dress up - in fact I was expecting it - but these kids were covered in makeup, and kept looking at themselves in the mirror saying how much prettier they were with it on, and how they wish the could wear it all the time. I guess I was upset because these little girls thought that makeup would make them prettier...and they are 4 & 6!! They should be rubbing their faces with dirt - not thinking about makeup- or even thinking about being prettier! I know they want to be like their "mom" (who wears a ton of makeup) but I think the conversation should be "this is for adults, maybe when you get older.." Am I the only one who thinks that makeup for kids at this age is not appropriate??
