What kind of BC?

What kind of BC did you use after your LO was born, were you happy with it?

I'm on the mini pill and have been spotting since I started it. On top of that, I'm horrible about taking it at the same time everyday... Making my chances of getting KU 1 in 20. So it is pretty much worthless to me. Pretty sure I'd die if I got pregnant right now! LOL

Re: What kind of BC?

  • I was on the pill for about 6 months and it made me wacky. Like, psycho. So now I'm on the paraguard. I like not having to deal with hormones but its been almost a year and I still bleed super heavy and spot throughout the month. And pms is a biitch. So,

  • I'm in the same boat, my doctor just had the BC chat with me at my last OB appt, and I don't know what to do...

I took the mini pill after DD was born, and it was a joke.  I could never get my act together and take it at the same time every

  • I had a fool-proof form of BC last time: deployment. Didn't have to worry about getting KU for 8 months.

I have no idea what we are going to do this time since it will actually be an issue (since DH will actually be here) - I hated taking BC pill

  • At this point I'm thinking about mierna or paraguard. I like the idea of horomone free paraguard but my SIL also has bad periods on it.
MrsSkull, do you have bad periods and PMS with Mierna?

I have periods that are super light and last about 2.5 days. I do get mild cramps but that's about it in the way of P

  • I got the Mirena and I wasn't the biggest fan of it. BC this time around will be charting to avoid.
  • I did the nuva ring, you only have to remember that twice a month.  Once in and 3 weeks later out for a week.  It is kinda expensive with no generic options. Dh did know when it was in but it didn't bug him.  And kinda like the pill you

  • I had Paraguard after DD1. Didn't like it much but wanted to go hormone free.

This time, I'm getting the Mirena (I've done my research and the homrones in it don't freak me out anymore). And then (like in 5 years) we'll BOTH get snipped.&nb

  • I love love love my Mirena, insertion was fairly painless, minimal spotting for maybe a week or 2, it did take a little while for my periods to regulate, but they are almost non-existent now.

  • After my first, nothing.  Hello baby boy #2!  Ha!

This time, our plan was vasectomy.  But then, you know, I got all big and pregnant with our "for sure LAST baby!!" and got all weepy and all "what if maybe possibly what if we're yo

We've just been using condoms for several years, before and after DS.  Hormonal BC is not my friend.

  • I'm another huge fan of the Mirena. After a few weeks of spotting I have no mood swings, minimal to non existent periods, don't realize it's there, don't have to remember to do anything, and it never had an effect on my milk supply. And when trying to get
