Sleeping arrangements

Ok, I'm totally against sleeping with my baby/child, I think mostly because its how I was raised. My mom said she never slept with any of us while we were babies and if we woke up from a bad dream or something we had to sleep in the floor beside her if we wanted to be in there. So, my question is any STM's who also strictly use a crib, if so any advice?

Re: Sleeping arrangements

  • We used a crib and had no problems.  I'm not anti-co-sleeping in concept (actually did it for the first week), but in practice, it wasn't for me.  For us, LO#1 took all naps and bedtimes in his crib.  Did he wake up?  Sure.  Bu

  • The first 3 months my son slept in the pack n play in our bedroom.  Main reason was we lived in a one bedroom condo.  Then we moved to a house and he went in his crib.  We didn't have any issues with him sleeping in it at all.  He love

  • DS slept in his pnp in our room until he was 5 moths old. He was still nursing every 2 hours. I had him nap in the crib from about 3 weeks on. When he started to STTN I transferred him to his crib in his own room with zero issues. I do sleep with him when

  • We used a bassinet for a few months then the crib. We never had a issue. I chose not to let her sleep with us for safety reasons. I also think everyone sleeps better when baby is in their own room.

  • That's right CV, they aren't dogs. They are humans who have the ability to learn and develop preferences and routine... You must teach them to sleep how you want them to sleep from day 1. She wasn't saying she let's them cry or neglects need

  • We were pretty strict with our 1st. She never slept in bed with us as a baby. With the 2nd we got a little less adamant(sleep deprived). I was breast feeding with her so it was just so easy to roll over and let her latch on. We'd all sleep soundly. </p

  • My parents never slept with us. However, we have always bedshared with our kids.  My almost two year old still sleeps with us and my four year old will come in occasionally.

We are pretty much the only country in the world where kids a

  • I have every intention of having the baby in the room with us at first. Whether it's in the crib or the Pack n Play, that'll depend. I don't plan on bedsharing because it makes me nervous but in my mind I have a baby that sleeps through the night from day

  • DD was in a bassinet for the first 5 months.  She was a terrbile sleeper and we often attempted bed-sharing. But I slept terrible because I couldn't get in a deep sleep, and she only slept slightly better; so that didn't last long.  We moved

  • We've co slept with all of our kids Nd plan to with this one too. It's not for everyone and that's fine. You have to do what works best for you. We slept with them until them where about 6 months or able to roll. At that point they went to their cribs and

  • I think people are confusing cosleeping [same room] with bedsharing. Cosleeping reduces risk of SIDS. Bedsharing does not. Anyways, DD was in her crib in her room right away. With this one, I plan on cosleeping in her room for the first 3 to 6 months. B
