baby led weaning?

i have been researching how to introduce solids to baby, which we won't do until 6 months. & found baby led weaning. i don't know if i would full on BLW, but it is interesting to me & i am thinking of adding some finger foods into the mix. anyone else looking into or planning on doing this method? what do you think about it?

    I am. I think it's great. Solids aren't needed until 1 year. So making food fun and more of play/exploration I think makes kids less hesitant to eat and try new things. Plus it teaches kids how to feed themselves early. Spoon feeding doesn't do that.

    Not sure if its technically BLW but with all my kids, I never did baby food.  Never saw the point.  I waited until my kids were sitting unsupported by themselves and also waited until I saw that they were munching with their mouths while we were

    I'm planning to do BLW after 6 months too. I like the idea of us eating at the same time. Food is more for fun in the beginning, so this takes the pressure off. If she's eating similar food to us, it's no big deal if she doesn't eat it. Whereas if I made

    I like the idea. This is my first so I don't have experience with it, but it all makes sense to me.
    Sept 2013 started TTC#2 (never got PP period so hoping for the first egg to drop)
    Jan 2014 - diagnosed POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and told pregnancy not possible without egg donor because my ovaries would never function again with my hormone levels (FSH 136, LH 98.6, AMH <.03, estradiol 0, HCG 7) - using acupuncture, chiropractic care and TCM herbs / supplements
    March 11, 2014 ovulated despite every doctors prognosis!!!
    Oct 2014 hormones (FSH 48, Estradiol 89, HCG 1) not good, but heckuva lot better!

    I love BLW. We started at 6m. I read the Rapley book which was really helpful in understanding what to do and not do and what foods might be good choices.

    We did it with my first and certainly will again.  For me it was the lazy approach.  I didn't want to mess with baby food so we just skipped it.  Pur?e in a jar is such an American thing, the majority of the world just skips it.
