Feeling possible feet in various places--does that mean he's turning?

It's weird--sometimes it's like he's kicking right under my ribs, sometimes it feels like he's dancing down low on my intestines. At my last OB appointment, the nurse said that at that point (27 weeks) it would be more likely to be feet than hands--at least the powerful pushes, which they all are (I can see the outline of SOME kind of little limb end, because they're all small, but I don't know what kind). This is important to me because I was told that these two large fibroids I have might prevent him from turning (one of them might also still be blocking the birth canal by the time I give birth, though my OB and childbirth class educator said that that was extremely rare since "stuff moves"). It would be great not to have a c-section after all....Anyway, silly question, but can they turn around and around at this point (29-ish weeks)?

  • Yes. It's entirely possible. My LO does log rolls from side to side all the time.

  • Yup!  There's still room for them to do that.  Though I'm not really sure how your fibroids might alter things ...

  • My OB told me that most babies turn by 32 weeks, if they don't then they usually do by 37 weeks.  She said only about 5% stay breech.
