How do you all feel about baby ear piercing?

Our first DD we did at 3mths. Zero issues. No infections. By the time she was old enough to grab at them they were completely healed.

Now our next daughter is that age I'm wondering if we should or not. My husband really wants to do it.

I will be waiting until DD is 13 and can decide if she wants it done or not. I don't see the reason in doing it so young.

Sometimes its a cultural thing to get them done early so I don't judge anyone. But personally I'm waiting until she asks, whether she's 3 or 13 I'll do it then. I think its cute.

We did with DD1 at 3 months and she was fine and now also with DD3 we did it at 3 1/2 months and she is fine too. It is up to you.

I agree with you. I always feel sad for baby girls with pierced ears....it's as if parents refuse to let babies be babies. Children grow up fast enough as it is and don't need adornments to make them cute.

Since the fads now for teenager girls are getting piercings in their cheeks or above their mouth, and in their tongue, why not get those done too. Bedazzle them so they won't have to remember the trauma later.

I'm not comfortable with any kind of cosmetic body modification without consent, even if it's just tiny holes.

I'm also not comfortable inflicting pain on my child in order to do something entertaining to me, even if its just a little painful
