What is your Grandfather's Name

Interested in finding some "older" boys names, so I'd like to hear some Grandpa or Great Grandpa names... Thank you in advance!

My Grandfather's are John Peter and Richard James

    My grandfather was Jackie Gardner and his father was Riker. I fought really hard to name little man Riker, but dh really didn't like it. And when we stumbled across Alonso, we both fell in love.

    Giles, and that will be LO's name, too. It's pronounced with a 'g' like giraffe, not like guy.
    There has been a Giles in every generation dating back to the late 1600's, and I'm keeping it going. Well, except for mine because we were all girls.


    ETA the others . Milton, Thomas, and Joseph. And they all had sons named after them too.

    Grandpa was William Francis. Still dream of having a little boy with Francis as his middle name but husband vetoed it because he thinks its too old fashioned...

    Great Grandpa was Wesley Benjamin. Sister named her son Wesley and if we are having a boy he'll be Benjamin...

    Greandfathers: John Alexander and William Thomas

    Great-Grandfathers: Michael John and Henry Chamberlain 

    DH's male family names are Martin and Henry (Harry)  

    My brother has a very old sounding name, Frederick Norman Donald 

    I also like the name Ethan, i think that's a classic name.

    Ted Lavern. My dad's father was Charles (don't know middle name). Never met him though, he abandoned my grandma with 6 kids when my dad was 11, so...I prefer not to call him my grandfather.

    Mine: Wilhelm Bernhard (went by Bernie) and Harry David

    H's: Walter James and William Wood

    William is DS's middle so it honors FIL (who is a junior), H's grandfather, and my grandfather (English version of Wilhelm, but I think it works Wink)

    Husband's: Frederick Edward and Robert James

    DH is Robert James, my son is Ethan Robert. I love Spencer, but my first cousin is named that and we are close. Maybe a MN for a future boy.

    My Great Grandpas are Oscar, Melvin, Czerney (silent C) and Gaylord.

    One of the coolest, and I mean absolutely coolest guys I know is names Giles (soft G, just like yours). That is awesome that you are continuing such a long line of Giles!



    I've never met a Giles I didn't like. Lol. And my Gramps was by far the coolest guy ever. We were very close, so it means a lot to me to name LO after him. Lucky I love the name too!

    My grandfathers' names are Jack, who our little guy is named after, and Harold. SO's grandfathers' names are James and Ulric, although he goes by Joe!

    Fredrick Robert and Royale Mauger. Dh had Clyde (don't know middle) and Charles Louis. 

    We are probably using Charles as baby's first name, although dhs grandpa always went by Louie.

    Lloyd Osbourne and Earl Grayson. 

    We used Grayson as a middle for my first son but now I wish I had saved it for a first name for this little guy.

    Giles is a lovely name. MHs friend has triplets: Giles, Emily and Olivia. They're teenagers now but and all of their names sound well no matter what age. It's unusual here too.

    Husband's: James, Norman, and step-GF Marvin.

    My acupuncturist's son is named Augstus, Gus for short, which I think is a great old man name! 

    We might use Burton James.
