Lo is 6 months old and we've been trying to get him to self soothe to sleep for 2 weeks straight with little to no improvement. I've read The No Cry Sleep Solution and Solve Your Sleep Problems. I've read taken some ideas from Pantley's book and incorporated them but didn't see any improvement. All tho she says it can take weeks. But I'm so ready for my son to sleep in his crib without me. So I read Ferber book and have been doing his way for almost 2 weeks. He still cries at least 30 when I put him to bed. Then if he wakes at night it starts all over.
Should we stop and try again later? Is there another method I can try. What worked for you?

Re: Self soothing to sleep
It could be that he's just not ready. Ferber does say that if it doesn't seem to be working, stop and try again in a couple of weeks. Another thing could be that you're just putting him to bed too early and he's not tired enough. Ferb
I guess I'll just wait a couple weeks.
Maybe your bedtime also isn't quite right... According to a sleep consultant meeting I had, there should be no more than 4-4.5 hours between waking up from the last nap and bedtime. And if you are waiting to start the routine until you see tired signs,
I agree with pps on the bedtime situation, but maybe a lovie or crib soother like a light and sounds aquarium of sorts would help?
DD2 LOVES her glow worm and it will often help her fall back asleep without crying if shes particularly awake afte
