I don't think I am alone here (at least I hope) but Harry refuses to nap. I have tried everything and read pretty much every book I can on the subject - I spent the my maternity leave trying to get him to nap. If I do get him to sleep the second I try and put him down he wakes up. On the rare occasion he stays asleep that only lasts for 15 minutes.
Everything I have read says he should be taking 2-3 2 hour naps a day - Ha!!. He sleeps well at night, going down without a fight at 8:30 then waking up a 2 and then 5:30. Once in a blue moon he will miss the 2 feeding. I think he is a wonderful night sleeper regardless of him not napping so I have pretty much given up on him.
I guess I am not looking for advice on how to get him to nap, but maybe some encouragement/empathy that I am not alone?? He starts daycare next week and they promise me they can get him to nap and get him on a nap schedule, but we don't CIO and I told them that isn't acceptable to do at daycare so not to force him. I hope I am not setting him up for being a fussy daycare baby...
Anyone else's LO not nap and thrive in spite of it? Will this change as he gets older?
Re: Can we talk about naps?
We are right there with you too! He will do 20-30 minutes and then wake up. We have tried everything (swaddle/no swaddle/RnP/crib/on us...evem on his belly...I know, I know, but we were dwsperate). He did sleep for an hour on his bell

My DD is a terrible napper and always has been - even now she only takes 1-2 30 minute naps per day. She sleeps really well at night, but gets super cranky in the afternoon, and anytime she is in the car she falls asleep. I was hoping that being at day

Dude you are SO not alone. T is a willful little creature and napping is just not part of her daytime agenda - and she's 2 days older than your little guy. You can tell she gets drowsy but she fights it hardcore. I've tried just about

ARGH! I just realized I owe you an email. I suck.
Anyway, naps get MUCH better as they get older. Trying to remember back to those early sleepless days, J would usually nap like 2-3 times a day, but they were totally incon
