Pregnant after 35

Possible induction next week... yikes!

Had an OB appt today and again my blood pressure was borderline, 139/85.

I have been occasionally checking at home and it's always been 120/80 or lower, and at my NST it's been really low, but they take it after I've been laying down,  she doesn't seem to be buying that those numbers are accurate. I'm doing another round of pre -e labs and based on those results she'll decide whether or not to induce me next week. Her theory is I'm full term, baby is nice and big and she's rather not wait until I do have HBP to react.

Major downside is, as of today's check I'm 100% closed, there's nothing going on down there. UGG... I'm not looking forward to any kind of induction, nevermind a very LONG one. OB said to have sex alot this week, another thing that I absolutely have no desire to do.

I'm having a hard time processing all of this, I really was looking forward to the natural start to labor and going through that whole experience and it looks like that is getting tossed out the window. Holding out hope my labs come back perfect and LO get's to stay in there a tiny bit longer.

  • Oh I hope your labs come back normal and you can hold out.  I understand not wanting to be induced because I would be really disappointed too. Every appt. I'm worried something will come up and they will tell me its happening. I hope it doe

  • This may be a little intimate, but if you're not in the mood for sex, I'd recommend just "taking matters into your own hands" so to speak. The orgasm is very helpful to get things moving. Then you can just have a quickie with DH (if so inclined-- he's goi

  • I really hope the bp stays down and baby stays in an cooks longer.  I can't believe your this far along already!   I am really happy for you!
  • Just curious, what is your normal blood pressure (when not pregnant)?  If it's normally very low, then even 120 or 130 could be high for you.  I had pre-e in my last pregnancy, but they didn't catch it because they were like oh, your BP is in
