anyone NOT have NT Scan?

Hi Ladies,

I know I don't post much, but i sure do lurk a lot. Lol. Did anyone of you NOT have an NT scan and or the TRI blood testing? The RN for my OBGYN said that they recommend it but don't require it. For us it is a matter of $ . It would have to be out of pocket as Prenatal insurance in AZ pretty much does not exist. I have also read that you can get a lot of false positives from this test which of course lead to anxiety. Any thoughts?..

I didn't bother with it. For my situation neither me or my doctor thought it was necessary.

I'm not going to by choice. Many women get it for ressurance purpose, when age comes into play raising their risks, or for a variety of other reasons. Since i'm low risk I didn't want to add any extra anxiety to my pregnancy waiting for result

I didn't do it and it is covered by the government health insurance here. It's completely optional and I just didn't want any added thing to stress over. Most of my friends/family didn't/don't get it either.

I didn't do it. I will take my child any way they come. And it's not a 100 accurate test anyways so I don't need the added stress that it could bring.

I am not doing it because if the money as well. My insurance does not cover any pre testing. My doctor said I was low risk and they can see a lot at the quad so that will be okay.

Prenatal insurance exists in AZ. I live in AZ and all prenatal care is covered on our plan. We chose not to do an NT scan but if we did it would have been covered.
