Not sure what to do...

Hello ladies! My LO is now 2 weeks old. We had some trouble nursing so I've been exclusively pumping. And lately I've been barely getting enough for her feedings. I used to get 4 to 5oz in 15 minutes now I barely get 2oz. Ive been pumping every 2 to 3 hours. Not sure what im doing wrong. I wanted my LO to atleast get breast milk for 4 months but I feel like I'm drying up already and I'll have to switch to formula soon. I know using formula isn't the end of the world but I'm just so disappointed in myself. I've been having meltdowns after every pump. I was going to call my lactation consultant but after finding out insurance doesn't cover her i just can't afford her with my hubby laid off with no unemployment benefits.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  • I agree the post about oatmeal. But also check with the hospital my insurance didn't cover my LC appt but it was only 28$ so it wasn't a crazy amount. They also will talk to me on the phone so just attempt to reach out and you may be surprised . Good l

  • To boost supply, drink tons of water, eat oatmeal, drink a dark beer, take Fenugreek and get a lot of rest!

  • Thank you guys for the advice! I will try just about anything! I meet with her pediatrician tomorrow and will hopefully get more useful information. I miraculously got 4 oz this morning but I've been getting 2 oz after that.
