Help! Lo won't sleep in her bed

Lo is three weeks today. We're having trouble getting her to sleep in the pnp or crib. During the day she sleeps great in the bouncer. She'll even put herself back to sleep if she starts to wake up. But we've had get little luck getting her to sleep in her pnp or crib. She'll wake up, stare at me and eventually cry. I've tried a vibrating pad, music, paci, rocking the pnp, but no luck. I also try to get her used to the bed for some of her afternoon naps, but with the same results. I try hard at night, but she usually ends up in the bouncer. I'm worried about her spending so much time in the bouncer and the horrible situation we'll be in if she outgrows the bouncer before we get her to sleep consistently in the pnp or crib. Any ideas or suggestions? TIA!

Re: Help! Lo won't sleep in her bed

  • My son is 5 weeks old and has slept in his pack and play next to our bed since he was home from the hospital. So I'm probably not much help. He likes to have his hands by his face and head when he sleeps so we never really swaddled him tight and we always

  • At 3 weeks she won't "get used" to anything except knowing mom will comfort and care for her when she needs it. Let her sleep in the bouncer if that's where she'll sleep and be thankful that she doesn't need to sleep in your arms in order to go down! <br

  • I swear by the Halo sleepsack swaddle. Keeps them from waking themselves, it is comforting, no loose blankets so it is safe, and doesn't increase risk for hip dysplasia. GL!
  • Let her sleep in her bouncy for now. DS1 would not sleep flat unril about 2 months.

  • I hate to suggest buying something else but I highly recommend the Rock n Play. We had the same issues and I was lucky enough that my MIL had a Rock n play that she got when my nephew was an infant. It cradles LO so they don't feel left out in the open

  • Ditto on the rock n play! That thing is amazing! We bought it after our first sleepless night home from the hospital, and it has been our best baby purchase, hands down!
