Honoring my dad in girl's middle name

I want to honor my dad, who passed away about a year and a half ago, in some way with the middle name. His name is not suitable for a girl in any way imaginable, so we've settled on just using the initial "L" (what his name began with) as a middle name. Recently I thought about using the actual name "Elle" instead ? definitely a more subtle nod to him, but meaningful nonetheless.

  • What was your dad's name?  Cause these day you can use a "boy" name in the middle name as long as the first name is girly enough.

  • What will be your daughter's first name? If it is feminine, I would just use your father's actual name.

  • I think this is a very good idea. Much better than just using the initial, which sort of looks like a placeholder.
