Laughing

Have you heard your baby's laugh yet? I haven't yet and I am concerned. She looks like she is laughing but nothing is coming out. I am also worried because when I say her name to her right next to her ear, she doesn't look towards me. I am thinking about calling the doctor again, but I DH says to wait until her six month appointment next month. I know she doesn't have an ear infection because we were there last week for it.

Well, I guess I should say when you speak to her she doesn't look at you. She used to say all kinds of coos but then all of a sudden all she says is variations of ah's, grunts and razzes a lot. But no laughing

DD doesn't laugh, but she's only 3 months. I read that babies don't recognize their name until 6 months.

My baby laughs like Sheldon on Big Bang Theory - kind of a grunty laugh. She sometimes recognizes her name.

My LO will laugh and look up when I say her name. It could be just a little slow development, I don't remember when they start to get concerned (age wise) for laughing or responding to your voice, I would call the pedi and see what's up.

I wouldn't be concerned. LO laughs, but mostly silently. In her sleep she's most likely to laugh audibly. She often won't look if you're trying to get her to, but if the dog barks or dryer door slams she startles, looks over and gives the snottiest look.
