Chicago Moms - BSBC Durable Medical Equipment

I just talked to a person at Blue Cross Blue Shield of IL and we'd be able to get an electric breast pump through a Durable Medical Equipment supplier on their list, and it go towards our deductible, which I know we'll definitely hit throughout the pregnancy and birth.

Has anyone had any luck finding a DME supplier that has breast pumps?  I keep clicking on all of the links, but none seem to have breast pumps...just like scooters and sleep apnea and those types of equipment.

Any advice would be great!

  • I would call the places. I remember the only medical equipment place I could go to didn't have them online, but once I called they were able to help.

  • Not sure about breast pumps, but with DS, we got his special hypoallergenic formula from Apria. They mailed us a month supply at a time, and billed my insurance. However I had Cigna, not BCBSIL.
