Mobile: XP Question about 4mo wakeful & MOTN feeding...
My basic question is, did you add/have you added a MOTN feeding during the 4mo wakeful period? If so, did baby drop it once the sleeping situation improved?
Here's the background:
F has been waking ridiculously often for the past few weeks, which I chalk up to the four month wakeful. But during this hellacious period, we've also added back a MOTN feeding between 1 and 2am. We originally dropped this feed around 6 weeks old, bc he was going right from his dreamfeed to eating around 4am, and then again at 7am when he wakes up for the day. (The good ol' days ::sigh::)
So, his night feeding schedule now is to clusterfeed at 7pm, get dreamfeed around 1030pm, eat upon waking around 1 or 2am, eat upon waking around 4 or 5am, and then eat at 7am when he wakes up for the day.
I started feeding him at 1am again bc he was acting hungry, and at that point, it's been about 3ish hours since his last feeding. When he wakes at other points during the night, I let him try and work it out on his own, but usually he just needs his paci back and a quick pat to go back down. But he's more persistent at 1am, so I've taken to just feeding him and then he'll go back down.
I should add that he doesn't take less food during the day now that we've added back the 1am feeding, he's still getting the same amount during the day. So, I feel like this is like an extra bottle he's getting. I'm exclusively pumping, and supplementing pretty substantially with formula, if that matters at all.
So, should I be worried that he is going to come to rely on this extra MOTN feeding? Should I try to drop it now?
I've read a lot of places that you can't decrease their intake, just move it around. So, should I try to sneak in a little extra during the day and then try dropping it? WWYD?
