Is it baby dandruff or cradle cap?

Just got done showering with E and I noticed that he had this white crap on his scalp. Wet it looked like the white stuff babies are born with, I forgot what its called. Now that his hair is dry, he has tons of flaky crap that looks like dandruff. I've been trying to brush it off but his hair and baby brush are too staticy. What do you think? Dandruff or cradle cap? What do I do to get rid of it? He is being baptized in two weeks and we have tons of people coming from out of town and its kind of gross.

    DD has this. I think all babies get it to some extent. Every other night we use baby oil for a massage. When I am done, I massage the top of her head. Some of the baby oil from my hands gets on her scalp, but not enough to make her hair greasy. That re

    My daughter definitely had cradle cap. They were huge flakes that would come off with peices of her hair. It made her bald in spots. I sat down one day and brushed her scalp really well with a soft baby brush (as it said to in the baby book) and tons

    Either one, adult dandruff shampoo gets rid of it (advice from my pedi!)

    THe only thing that ever worked for us was Kiehls baby shampoo.  They just discontinued it but i was able to buy some from their website.  Maybe some locations still have it.  Smells fantastic & even tho expensive ours lasted more than

    So, should I contact my Pedi for advice? Or what should I do? I'm not sure that I can bathe him every day, he seems to get really dry skin everywhere else.  Based from what all of you have said, it does sound more like dandruff than cradle cap-- it's

    If it is cradle cap, olive oil will do the trick. Just do it at bath time and be careful not to get it in they eyes. Once it's in the hair use a fine tooth comb and it should come right off. Shampoo hair about three times immediately following and ther

    With DS1 we used the pedi suggested dandruff shampoo.  With this kid, I just took that baby brush and rubbed it back and forth (not really brushing, just loosening the flakes), then I brushed all that away with a burp cloth.  If your brush ha
